Chef | Heartfelt | Nutritionally-Minded
Raised in South Africa, my love for creating foods started very early on in my life. I grew up in a home where the air was always infused with something delicious being cooked or baked. This is where I grew my understanding that honest moments around the dinner table is the place we form connection and nourishment in every sense of the word. I have been cooking and baking my entire life, and this is what led me to gain my associates degree from Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena.
Fresh out of culinary school, I started working in fine dining and this is where I learned finesse; taking food and making it an art. Later on in my career I entered the retirement living arena. I quickly became a director of culinary arts; in this environment I learned about specific diets, food allergies and how Alzheimer’s and dementia can affect a person’s connection with food and nourishment.
