Geopolitics and Astro-Predictions
The astrological discipline dedicated to exploring and defining geopolitics is Mundane Astrology. It is similar, yet different, from the Personal Astrology, the discipline I practice. I have only a limited knowledge of the details of how Mundane Astrology really works. However, I love learning about the vast and complicated science/art of Astrology and I am also always interested in stretching myself through taking on challenges. Thus, I recently responded to a request for volunteers to give a short talk about the upcoming presidential election for an audience of astrologers. The assigned stated topic was: to explore making predictions related to the upcoming presidential election. As a learning activity it was fascinating and the subject matter proved to be complex and complicated. I started with the intention to study and research so I could and would make an informed prediction. And, I seriously attempted to be definitive. However, in the end result, my conclusion was that the potential results of the election are too close to call. I, thus, decided I could and would, as to not be a typical wishy-washy Libra, share my bias regarding the candidate I hope to be the winner. And, however, predicting a clearly defined winning outcome was, just not to be.
And, for a bit of definitive commentary: I do feel comfortable predicting that we are not going to know who wins on election night and that much chaos is almost guaranteed to ensue. FYI: All the astrologers in attendance seemed to whole heartedly agree.
Uranus as an Indicator of Cosmic Chaos Current and Future
The primary reason for my sense that predicting an outcome is not possible as well as my prediction that there will be chaos relates to the prominence and strength of Uranus, the planet of surprises, and its influence on the charts of the contenders. In both Donald Trump’s and Kamala Harris’ chart at the time of the election transiting Uranus has an influential placement. Uranus is a slow-moving planet. In both charts an influential placement of Uranus will be in full force on election day, election certification day and inauguration day. For Donald Trump, Uranus at election time Uranus will be positioned at the very top of his chart. This placement, known as a conjunction with the Midheaven, can be interpreted as a powerful reason to believe that he has as his highest goal (the top of his chart) to orchestrate some, and perhaps even many, surprises. On the Democratic side of the political spectrum Kamala Harris has Uranus transiting over (thus also a conjunction) Jupiter. Jupiter makes everything it comes into contact with bigger. This suggests that Kamala is preparing to be surprisingly big. This coming election season promises to be a contest to be like a competition between mighty warlord Titans. The stakes are high. Both sides have huge investments in winning at any cost.
