About the Book Radical Forgiveness
In this most interesting book Colin Tipping, the author of Radical Forgiveness, challenges conventional notions of forgiveness. Consequently, the book offers a fresh and quite radical perspective on healing deep wounds. The concept goes beyond traditional forgiveness by framing an inherent perfection in every situation, even those that appear to be deeply hurtful or unjust.
Using personal anecdotes, practical exercises, and spiritual insights, readers are guided on a journey of self-discovery and empowerment. Tipping emphasizes the importance of releasing resentment and embracing forgiveness as a path to inner peace and freedom. Unlike conventional forgiveness, which often involves
overlooking or minimizing the harm done, radical forgiveness encourages individuals to fully acknowledge their pain while also recognizing the potential for growth and spiritual evolution. In a very short summary I
would say, Colin Tipping ascribes to Nelson Mandela quotation that “Resentment is like drinking poison and thinking it will kill your enemies.”
A Radical Cosmic Mojo Challenge: A Head and Heart Reset
April 20 has the promise and potential to bring radically positive results. Mercury is in retrograde until April 25 and Mercury retrogrades favor rethinking. Colin Tipping and Caroline Myss remind us that lack of forgiveness hurts us and negatively impacts our well-being. Astrologically it is clear a Head and Heart reset has the potential to be powerfully beneficial.
The Head/Heart Reset Challenge:
Take an inventory of the hurts and affronts to your well-being in your life. Make a list of one or more (as many as you feel ready to address) people and/or situations related to your own actions who or that tend to haunt you because you have resentments or shame surrounding them. Then, commit to determining if you can frame your perception of the person or the event as being, in at least some way, inherently perfect for you and your growth and development of you to be the person you are today.
Cautionary note: If you commit to taking on this challenge exercise and it becomes daunting or overwhelming you will want to judge for yourself if it is not right for you or if it is not the right timing. If you need support I highly recommend the Radical Forgiveness book and of course, loyal friends and/or therapists can be helpful.
In closing I wish all who choose healing success on your journey. I will close with more wisdom from Carolyn Myss “Forgiveness is a mystical act, not a reasonable one.”
