Dear Lakeside Community,
Tuesday, June 7th is election day. As a reminder, Measure J is on the ballot. Click
for more information. We encourage our community to get out and vote (or show your kids the ballots you are mailing in), modeling good civic behavior and setting the expectation for them that they should do the same some day.
We will have three of five seats open on our Governing Board, with elections scheduled for November, taking office in December. The
Santa Clara County School Boards Association
for anyone interested in running for school board. The forum will be held at the Mountain View Whisman School District Office on Saturday, June 11th from 9 to 11 am. The office is at 750-A San Pierre Way in Mountain View. A representative from the Registrar of Voters will be there to discuss rules for filing, voter expectations, and will include a panel discussion from current board members. If you have any questions, you can also talk to any board member or make an appointment to discuss with me. We will keep the conversation confidential.
Next week is a busy one here at Lakeside. On Monday, the Talent Show will be held at 12:15 pm during lunchtime. On Tuesday, the 5th graders will have an end of year celebration AND it is Election Day. On Wednesday, we have 5th grade promotion at 8:30 am and it is the last day of school for this year, followed by the

. The event will be held from 11 am to 5 pm and include 3-D printing demonstrations, laser cut mask designs, macrame hangings, musical performances, special tours and more! You do need to print the free tickets in advance - go
it is a safety issue to have students dropped off before 8 am. Our staff is on duty beginning at 8 am. Please do not leave your children unattended before 8 am. We want to ensure students are safe and supervised and we need your help to make sure that students are safe.
Finally, our goal was to complete the
LCAP draft and have it out by the end of this week. We realized that, with some of the end of year activities and our desire to complete an outstanding draft with minimal edits, we will not have it ready until early next week. It will be shared in "draft" form before the end of this school year. Thank you for your understanding.
