JULY MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: HELPING HANDS CARE SERVICES LLC
Walking into their office, the warmth and feeling of home is very present. There is a sense “how can we help?”
After experiencing the pains and struggles of home health companies while caring for her father with dementia, Latisha Frye, and her husband Richard, saw a need for something different… something better. After her father’s passing, Latisha went on the get her B.S. in Healthcare Management and within two years, formed an agency with a mission to provide 24/7 quality services to all clients.
Fast-forward four years, Latisha and Richard now own and operate a successful agency, Helping Hands LLC. From housekeeping to lawncare, companion care and prescription pick-up to personal care, medication reminders and transportation to appointments, the agency is designed for clients to stay in the comfort of their homes while staff members assist with daily needs. Helping Hands also partners with other local companies to provide trained, certified aides to anyone needing those services. Today, their staff of 17 service all of Baldwin County and parts of Escambia and Mobile County, including a large percentage of Veterans. They take pride in providing services and care to all people in need regardless of their gender, race, age, income, occupation, and education. The goal is to ensure that every client is treated with respect, dignity, and compassion.
When asked what makes her passionate about her work, Latisha said “helping the helpless” … working with seniors and children and knowing she makes a difference makes it worthwhile. She particularly enjoys helping children with disabilities in the home and her work has grown to include helping foster parents and aiding moms during pregnancy or after bringing home their new bundle of joy.
Other services for youth include their involvement with Alabama Works, Easter Seals and summer internship programs. Helping Hands also offers training programs to help nursing students. Latisha also has big plans in the works to aid struggling seniors by starting a non-profit.
Latisha, her husband and her staff, work with a sense of heart and purpose. The belief is that they want to help, and they make it happen. From free in-home and telephone consultations to working with insurance companies to make the process as easy as possible, charging flat rates with no hidden fees, to flexible care options and building personal relationships to ensure families are comfortable… Helping Hands has you covered!
