THANK YOU!

Happy GIVING TUESDAY Claremont Heritage Members,

Thank you for joining us last night at our Annual Holiday Celebration. Your presence brought warmth, connection, and a real sense of community to Garner House.

Evenings like that remind us why Claremont Heritage matters — preserving the stories, places, and traditions that make Claremont the city we all love.

As we enter the season of giving, our Executive Director David Shearer, our Board of Directors, and I would like to highlight The Gift of Claremont Heritage — a gift that truly gives all year long. Experiences are among the most meaningful things we can offer, and a gifted membership provides exactly that: connection, culture, and a deeper sense of belonging.

A gifted membership includes a full year of:

• Exhibitions, tours, and special programs

• Member invitations, discounts, and benefits

• Our annual Holiday Party

• A lasting connection to Claremont’s history — and to the people who help keep it alive.

It’s a thoughtful, enduring gift — whether you’re celebrating the holidays, welcoming someone new, or sharing something meaningful with a friend or neighbor.

If you’d like to give a membership, we’re here to make it easy. You can call us, visit our website, or stop by Garner House. We’ll wrap your gift beautifully, complete with an ornament, a Heritage book, and a bow.

Thank you again for joining us last night and for supporting the work that keeps Claremont’s legacy strong. Your involvement makes a real difference.

Warm regards,

Executive Director David Shearer

Discovering Foster Rhodes Jackson

The Search for Organic Architecture

Join us for 2025 Home Tour Weekend - Preserving the Recent Past for this ground-breaking exhibition on the life and work of architect Foster Rhodes Jackson.

Foster Rhodes Jackson (1911–1993) was one of Organic Architecture’s most remarkable—yet little-known—figures. Often regarded as one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most gifted but overlooked apprentices, Jackson developed a deeply personal vision of architecture in Southern California and beyond.

The recent acquisition by Claremont Heritage of Jackson's archive has brought to light new scholarship on his life and work. The re-imagination of the Hafif Residence 1955 in the foothills above Claremont by Bestor Architecture and the subsequent feature in Architectural Digest Magazine also brought renewed interest to FRJ's work.

This exhibition—the first devoted entirely to his work—presents rare photographs, artifacts, furniture, and drawings that reveal the vision of this extraordinary architect.

Special Thanks to Exhibition Team Zach Bowers, Carina Arias,

our Sponsors John Neiuber, Barbara Bestor.
