Utah Family Struggles For Timely Access To Materials 

In honor of Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we are spending some time with a family that has direct experience with accessibility and the difference its presence—or absence—can make in a student’s education. 


Students like Drake truly want to learn. “We are selling them short and selling ourselves short,” Andy said, “... if we're not giving them the opportunities to excel and to be contributing members of our cities, our states, our world.”

The Described and Captioned Media Program (DCMP) is developing an innovative video accessibility tool. Educators will be able to upload videos and easily add captions, audio descriptions, and synchronized American Sign Language (ASL).
