Dear UUCMC Family,

I hope this message finds you in good spirits this Halloween! I want to express my deepest gratitude for the exceptional support and enthusiasm for Sunday's all-ages Fall Funday and Trunk-or-Treat event.

A special thank you to all the dedicated volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly to make the event run smoothly. Your commitment and enthusiasm are the building blocks of our community, and your efforts did not go unnoticed. Whether you were organizing games, setting up the trunk displays, performing, or providing delicious treats for everyone to enjoy, your contributions were invaluable.

Then, with the threat of rain, people answered the call for help to transform the building for an indoor event (and reset it for a rental later). You ensured that our Halloween celebration continued without missing a beat. It is precisely this "can-do" spirit that makes our congregation such a special place.

The connections we build and nurture within our congregation are what make our community strong and vibrant. Events like these are not just about celebrating a holiday but also about deepening the bonds that hold us together. Our ability to come together as a community of all ages to share in joy and laughter and to support one another in our individual and collective journeys is truly special.

As we move forward into the holiday season, let us continue to nurture our connections, and together, create a stronger, more loving community. One that holds us through the both the most challenging and joyful moments of life.

With heartfelt appreciation,

Michelle

Mga Kwentong Paglaya: Filipino Stories of Liberation

Erol Delos Santos

Centuries of Spanish colonization and annexation in the Philippines nearly saw the end of indigenous Filipino culture. Even though this story is one of heartache, it is also a story of resistance, resilience, and liberation.

Music by Dr. Louise Chernosky and Jon Sousa, guitar.
