Celebrate All Saints and All Souls

Bring a Picture for the Ofrenda (altar)

Join us Saturday, November 1

as we celebrate

Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead),

a beautiful Mexican tradition observed on November 1 and 2

to honor and remember loved ones who have passed.

This is a joyful celebration of life, filled with color, music, and memories.

We’ll learn about the tradition of the ofrenda (altar) and its offerings,

such as food, flowers, and candles; and

take a moment to share stories of those we love and remember.

Enjoy Delicious Mexican food, art, and community as we come together to celebrate life and love.

3 to 5 PM: Art and food available for purchase

5 to7 PM: Free screening of Coco in the church

All are Welcome and Invite a Friend or Two!

Would you have time to help set-up at 12 noon on Saturday, November 1?

We would love to have you! Just email Jocelyn.

This Sunday, November 2

we invite you to bring a picture of a loved one

you would like us to remember

We will also have an opportunity to say prayers

in the columbarium adjacent to the church.

Honor your beloveds with us by placing a photo

on our ofrenda (altar), located in the Narthex.

Together, we’ll create a sacred space of memory, gratitude, and love.

The altar will be visible this weekend, offering

all who visit a moment to pause, reflect, and give thanks

for the lives of those who have gone before us.

Pictures from this week’s events,

along with October highlights, will be available this weekend in our newsletter titled,

"Christ Church in Pictures - October"

Look out for it!

Thursday November 6, 10:00 am -  Caregivers Celebration at Burlingame Skilled Nursing with SpiritCare. Artistic people are needed to help residents make a collage. Contact Pam Kaufmann.

Collecting Hotel-sized Toiletries for Unhoused Vets - Use Signup Genius /10C094FA8AE2DA13-59783549-forthe this week as we gather full-sized toiletries, new socks, new undies and laundry supplies for Homeless Veterans at Eleven Eleven in San Carlos - late last year a special Life Moves shelter was created for 39 homeless veterans in need of support and counseling while they deal with life’s hardships and PTSD. Each has their own small room with a kitchen and bathroom in an extended stay hotel in San Carlos.

On Veterans Day, CCPVW Outreach and Epiphany Episcopal Church Outreach in San Carlos hope to deliver something tangible to help them on their way; toiletries, new socks, new undies and laundry supplies.

Right now we most need donations of body wash, men’s deodorant, men’s undershorts,

men’s socks and laundry pods. Bring any items you can donate to the marked box in

the breezeway by Sunday November 9th. We will deliver them on Veteran’s Day (11/11) to the 34 men and 5 women who served out country so bravely. Questions contact Carol Wentworth or Pam Kaufmann.

Food Pantry at All Saints Episcopal Church will be rising to the need as 42 million children, seniors and the disabled lose their SNAP benefits on 11/1. See list of needed food donations in the Bulletin and bring them to 425 Hamilton Ave/Palo Alto from 10 - 2:30 Monday - Friday or until 6:30 on Thursday. Cash donations welcome too.

15,000 Meals Shipped to the Philippines - In September we made 15K meals for the starving abroad with Rise Against Hunger. This week they shipped to Luzon Island in the northern part of the Philippines which has been clobbered by huge cyclones and is experiencing major landslides. These meals will feed 70 school kids for a

year. Contact Mary Soubirous.

For Disaster relief in Jamaica, Gaza, Ukraine, Alaska and more we recommend donations to World Central Kitchens at www.wck.org

CROP Walk - Donations to the "Christ Church" team are welcome until December 1. Proceeds go to Church World Services and the Ecumenical Hunger Program in East Palo Alto.  www.crophungerwalk.org/menloparkca.

Support your Parish

During this time of harvest and blessing, reflect on the blessing of our community and how we can support its continued vitality.

Giving alms is not a onetime event. It is a state of mind that see everything we have as gift from God. What we then give is a small return of what God has blessed us with in this life.

Our goal is raising $300,000 to support our parish and its mission.

Given the size of our parish, this translates to an average of $5,000 per donor. We recognize that some can give more and others may give less, and that’s okay. Every gift, no matter the amount, is deeply appreciated and makes a meaningful impact.

This year, we’ve made it even easier to pledge:

to let us know your pledge.

Let’s come together as a community to achieve this important goal.

With Gratitude for your Generosity and Support

Important Notice: Phishing Scam Alert

We want to make you aware of a recent increase in phishing scams targeting members of faith communities, including ours. In these scams, individuals impersonate church leaders by sending fraudulent emails or text messages requesting gift cards, money, or personal favors.

Please know: These messages are scams. No one from Christ Church, will ever request gift cards or cash from you via text or email.

If you receive a suspicious message, do not respond. Instead, contact the church office directly to verify its authenticity.

Thank you for your vigilance and continued care for one another.
