Congrats to Cassie, our Wonder Woman for the month of October.
As many of you know, one of our magnificent hygienists, Cassie underwent a bi-lobectomy at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester on July 27 of her right middle and lower lobes of her lung. Cassie needed this extensive surgery to treat a carcinoid lung tumor. A carcinoid lung tumor only occurs in 1-2% of people. Most carcinoid tumors present themselves in non-smokers. Cassie was never a smoker. Her tumor presented itself by frequent bouts of pneumonia. Currently, Cassie is doing well after surgery. She was out of the clinic for 6 weeks to help her recovery. She does not have any shortness of breath or chest pain. Cassie thanks her Mayo surgeon, Dr. Cassivi and his team for removing the cancerous tumor and allowing her to return back to her normal everyday activities. We are so happy to have Casie back caring for her patients at Eggert Family Dentistry. Cassie was recognized as this month's Wonder Woman because despite this difficulty, she came back even stronger and no matter what - Cassie always has a smile on her face!
❤️ We love you Cassie! ❤️
