Drive Right On Fright Night!

While we can’t fill your candy bag, we can offer a few sweet safety reminders to help keep Halloween full of candy, costumes, and good memories. After all, the only thing spooky should be the decorations!

Drive cautiously:

👁️ – Watch closely for pedestrians and bicyclists.

🧙 – Slow down and stay alert, especially in neighborhoods and pedestrian crossings.

🍬 – Sugar rushes only! Never drive if you have used intoxicating substances.

If you're trick-or-treating:

🎃 – Walk on sidewalks and cross at traffic signals where possible.

🕯️– Don't enter the road from between parked cars.

🧛 – Carry a flashlight and wear reflective clothing.

Treat Yo'self to an Extra Hour of Sleep

Daylight saving time ends this Sunday – while we'll gain an hour of sleep, it will also get darker earlier in the evening.

Take these precautions when you travel:

✓ Turn on those headlights and bicycle lights - even if it feels early!

✓ Watch for walkers and bikers - they can be hard to see in the dark.

✓ Wear something bright or reflective if you're out walking or biking.

✓ Leave extra space between cars.

✓ Feeling sleepy? Skip the drive and rest up instead.

Let’s look out for each other and keep our streets safe and friendly this fall!

Spooktacular Update

New Traffic Light at the Bonita/Sequoia Intersection

A new traffic light is now in place at the Bonita Road and Sequoia Parkway intersection. The signal is expected to improve traffic flow in the area.

The intersection project also included ADA-compliant curb ramps and pavement markings to improve pedestrian access and safety.

This project is a collaboration between Washington County and the City of Tigard.

It is funded by Washington County’s Major Streets Transportation Improvement Program (MSTIP), a countywide program that invests in safer travel and delivers improvements to the roads that carry our communities forward.
