PARTNER CORNER
Casa Círculo Cultural has established itself in Redwood City as a space for creative life, family integration and preservation of Latino cultural traditions. Redwood City Public Library has partnered with Casa Círculo Cultural for the last seven years, implementing programs for the community in our libraries. Día de Muertos Celebration is the perfect example of this partnership. What started at the library has grown five times its original size and is now held in Redwood City's Courthouse Square. Día de Muertos Celebration draws more than 5,000 people to visit and enjoy this cultural tradition. Learn more about the event, taking place Sunday, November 4, 4:00-9:00 p.m.

Since its creation in May 2009, Casa Círculo Cultural has been committed to producing and presenting plays, musical concerts, television programs, art exhibitions, creative reading and writing workshops, as well as music, chess, tae-kwon-do, singing classes and much more.We look forward to many years of collaboration with this dynamic local organization.
WHAT'S NEW

November 1st is the first day of Food for Fines! Anyone with outstanding library fines is invited to deliver nonperishable food items to any Redwood City Library from November 1 through December 31. With a donation, those library customers with unpaid fines will leave the library with a cleared account and the great feeling of having helped others as the holidays approach.

Last year, the PLS Libraries Food for Fines program resulted in a collection of 36,531 pounds of food; waived fees and fines of $56,403; and 4,199 library accounts cleared. Second Harvest Food Bank has said that 25 pounds of food will feed a family for a week. With 36,531 pounds collected from all library partners, close to 1500 families would be fed for one week each.

In partnership with Second Harvest Food Bank and Peninsula Library System.
