We have had a great time during those last days of summer. Still wearing hats and applying sunblock on sunny afternoons. We have spent as much time as possible enjoying summer-play before the season disappears. The children absolutely love water and have delighted in washing toy animals, and blowing soap bubbles at each other.
Easter week was exciting – full of eggy art projects and rabbit stories.
Easter egg hunts are challenging with toddlers and young children – in all the excitement it can be hard to remember to share! But the teachers were all prepared with pictures of eggs hidden around the grounds which the children could find, then ‘trade in’ for their own chocolate version.
Dressing up was fun and everybody enjoyed the role-playing which came along with the costumes.
Our current focus is on developing resilience, confidence and persistence. Many of the children have recently experienced change and had to embrace new rooms, new people and new routines. Some of the older children had to rebuild a new social group after saying goodbye to friends who had moved onto school.
