Monthly Newsletter - December 2024

NEWS & UPDATES

Executive Director's Corner

It’s hard to believe that 2024 is already over, but it’s been another great year for MAG. This year has been especially significant to me, and to my staff, because we’ve had the opportunity to get to know so many of our municipalities better through the MAG Roadshow. Thank you to all of the mayors and staff who have given time to let us visit and share information with you about our programs, while learning more about the ways in which we can help you meet the critical needs of your cities and towns. We still have a few locations to visit, and we look forward to seeing you soon.

The tremendous efforts of our municipalities are what make Utah, Summit, and Wasatch Counties an amazing place to live, and a region of choice for Utahns to raise their families. As Utah continues to grow, I know we can do so responsibly and efficiently as we continue to work together. We truly are- stronger together.

As we use this time of year to reflect, we can also use it as an opportunity to give. As in previous newsletters, I continue to encourage each of us to find a way to maximize this Giving Season by donating time, money, or service to the organizations that best serve our communities. Among those organizations, I personally focus most on our own Meals on Wheels program, and its associated non-profit Meals on Wheels Summit, Utah, Wasatch. I very much believe in the slogan that “Food is medicine- and so is companionship.” Not only does MAG proudly facilitate the delivery of meals to our beloved seniors, but our volunteers are the only human contact our recipients receive on many days. If you have the capacity to help our seniors in need, please check out https://mowsuw.org/ to see how you can help.

I hope each of you have an amazing holiday season, and we look forward to working with you in 2025

-Michelle Carroll, MPA
