Happy Holidays from the staff at Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham!
Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham is sincerely grateful for the incredible support this year from the Birmingham legal community. We wish everyone a warm and festive holiday season, and we look forward to serving our clients together in 2019!
Special holiday recipe for lawyers
Justice Sandra Day O’Connor
Retired U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor recently shared her family’s holiday beef jerky recipe . That’s right – it’s possible to make your own beef jerky! It seems too good not to share with our loyal eBrief readers.

A word of caution, VLB staff have not yet tried this at home, but we trust Justice O’Connor.
Criminal Court Judge takes Domestic Relations case
Judge Kechia Davis
A special thank you goes to Judge Kechia Davis of Birmingham Municipal Court for assisting a client with an uncontested divorce. Judge Davis, who regularly volunteers her time with Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham, views her volunteering as a way to give back of her knowledge and skills to those that truly need legal advice but cannot afford it. Although Judge Davis handles criminal cases on the bench, she easily made the shift to domestic relations law.
Thanks to our Help Desk volunteers!
