As we prepare to begin our 37th  year of service I am reminded of how eventful this year has been for the Center and how excited we are to do more great work in 2017.
This year we have had to say goodbye to some long-time staff members, Diane Higginbotham, E3 Instructor, and Meredith Kitts, Development Director. But I am delighted to introduce our new team members as well. Mickeline Lambert is our new receptionist/administrative assistant. She will be the first smiling face you see in our lobby and we are happy to have her with us. Amy Roberts is our new development director. Amy has a wealth of experience and knowledge and we are excited for her to step in and lead the charge on the fund development front.
Ending the year on a high note, we had our largest December class in a long time! We had 14 ladies who braved the winter cold for two weeks to take part in the SOS Class. All of our graduates this year embraced the value of changing their direction in order to change their lives. We wish you all well on your new journeys.
I'd like to extend a warm thank you to all of our donors and funders who have and continue to support the life-changing work we do at the Center. Your support helps us to effect change for so many women throughout Central Ohio every day. I would also like to thank our Board of Trustees who has done a great deal of work this year to support the staff and the Center. They have been with us every step of the way as we have continued to work to refine our mission, identity and goals collectively. Also, I must recognize all of our wonderful volunteers. Your dedication and commitment help us to be even better as a Center.
And in closing I'd like to thank all of our staff at NDCC. Your time and talents are appreciated and I look forward to doing more great work with you in the year to come.

Amy Roberts, Development Director
Amy has 22 years experience in the child abuse and neglect field working for Prevent Child Abuse Ohio and Ohio Network of Children's Advocacy Centers.  She also has 15 years experience in planning special events for UA Crew and the Junior League of Columbus. At NDCC, Amy will coordinate all efforts for fundraising and donor relationship development. Amy will also head up event management for all of the Center's fundraising events such as Women of Promise.
Mickeline Lambert,  Administrative Assistant
Mickeline originates from Ottawa, Canada where she earned her Associate's Degree in Social Work specializing in Gerontology. She has more than five years of experience working with older adults and their families in fields including assisted living, hospital intake, and health care coordination. Mickeline loves being part of a community that has a strong mission to help others in need and hopes to continue to use her experience working to positively impact the Center.
The New Directions Young Professionals' Holiday Hearts event was a huge success! We were able to purchase gifts for 31 children over the holidays, making this the most impactful Holiday Hearts to date, thanks to everyone's generosity. Thank you to everyone who participated- we were absolutely thrilled to have your support again this year and you truly made this holiday season brighter for so many families .
Thank you to all of the individuals and companies that made a donation to this year's Circle of Friends Giving Campaign which currently totals $21,448!  Each donation allows you to help support a woman in our community seeking change in her life.
For every dollar you donate, $0.86 is spent on direct services to clients. With your donation you can ensure that each woman who endeavors to change the direction of her life by coming to the Center will receive the quality career development and counseling services that NDCC has been known for throughout the past 36 years.
There's still time to make your donation before the end of 2016.
Thank you to Chris Burt and Grace Polaris Church for
donating more than  50 food basket s to families of the Center for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Chris,  Lesley , and their children have been  dedicated to our clients for many years, ensuring they are able to enjoy a celebratory dinner during the holidays. One of  our  real joys this holiday season is the opportunity to say thank you and wish you the very best for the new year!
