Happy Holidays!

Whatever you celebrate, we wish you well this holiday season!

Our clinics will be closed December 22, December 25 and January 1 to celebrate the holidays and ring in the new year!

Our Residential programs will be fully staffed and open through the holidays, and our Assertive Community Treatment team will be checking in with clients during the long holiday weekends. In Fairbanks, our Mobile Crisis Teams will continue to operate through the holidays, accessed through 9-1-1.

If you or someone you know is experiencing a mental health crisis, call 988 to connect to local resources. Alaska's Careline can be reached directly at 1-877-266-4357.

To schedule an appointment during clinic hours, call us 907-563-1000 in Anchorage or 907-371-1300 in Fairbanks. Same day crisis appointments are available.

Managing Stress

The holidays can be joyous, but they can also be stressful, lonely, or increase feelings of grief and sadness. Drinking more, skipping exercise and getting out of healthy eating habits can add to feeling less well than we'd like. Follow along on our social media channels for tips and reminders for navigating the holidays, whether you are struggling yourself, or notice someone else is.

Listening session for Alaska's youth behavioral health system

The State of Alaska Departments of Health and Family and Community Services are hosting a series of listening sessions about behavioral health services for youth. A statewide virtual session will be held Tuesday, December 19 at 6 pm!

Sessions are designed to hear from people who are willing to share their experiences caring for youth with behavioral health needs, including parents, guardians, grandparents, family members, youth, and caregivers. Pre-registration is required!

To learn more about the State's "roadmap" process for youth behavioral health, and learn about future dates, check out the website here.

Thank you so much for your support!

Staff from Credit Union 1's downtown branch spent Giving Tuesday shopping for our Residential clients in Anchorage, setting them up for a joyful holiday season!

The elves at Altman, Rogers & Co provided gifts for the children in our Little Tykes program! Little Tykes is a half-day group therapy program for young children struggling with emotions and behavior, and has openings for enrollment after winter break!

For the second year, the Emblem Club #109 of Fairbanks wrapped up some holiday cheer for our adult residential clients at Tamarack Living Center in Fairbanks!

All three of these organizations are supporting our clients for at least the second year in a row! We are incredibly grateful for this community support. Beyond providing some cheer, this support lets our clients know that they are seen and they matter - powerful messages that means so much!

APCAAA board members and Seeds program manager Cole Murphy sample the jalapeno peppers growing at Seeds -- a new crop for the program. Buy them at Blue Market in Anchorage!

Thank you, APCAAA!

We were to pleased to take Board members Mark and Steve of the Anchorage Police Citizens Academy Alumni Association on a tour of the POWER Center youth drop in program and Alaska Seeds of Change recently!

The Association is supporting our programs for transition age youth for the second year

APCAAA aims to support the work of the police department by supporting programs that reduce the burden on police. Supporting young people to address mental health and learn job skills fits right in!
