What's New in 2022?
Community Rehabilitation Surveys
We want to hear from you! In the coming years, the Municipality of North Middlesex will be commencing a rehabilitation of Parkhill Main Street and Queen Street in Ailsa Craig.
The surveys were designed to engage the public and gather feedback as the Municipality designs, budgets and prepare to commence this project.

Your feedback is important to us and the surveys will be open until February 2022.
 

Public Open House– Community Rehabilitation

You are invited to attend the Public Open Houses to learn more about the project, and to discuss your construction-related concerns about this Project. Opportunities to discuss potential modifications to the roadway will also be discussed.

Animal Services Update– Cosy Country Kennel
Effective January 1, 2022, the Municipality of North Middlesex has contracted service with Cosy Country Kennels at 1955 Elliot Dr, Parkhill.

A service will continue to be available for pick up of dogs found running at large in North Middlesex, provided they can be safely detained at a location with a 911 address.
The Municipality of North Middlesex has held a contract with the Animal Care Centre in Lobo for many years for lost and stray dog pick-ups and pound-keeping services. 

 We would like to sincerely thank Allan and Amanda for their commitment and high-quality care of dogs they have helped through their shelter and wish them all the best in their future endeavours. 
Proposed Changes to Cemetery By-Law 42 of 2015
At the Council Meeting held on December 15, 2021, a staff report was approved for release showing proposed changes to Cemetery By-law 42 of 2015 for public consultation and viewing. This By-law would affect all municipally owned cemeteries within North Middlesex.

The draft by-law showing the amendments is available to view in person at the North Middlesex Administration Office, 229 Parkhill Main Street, Parkhill during regular office hours or through the municipal website. Written comments will be received for a period of 30 days.
Due to the holiday season, the last day for receiving comments will be January 31, 2022. Following the consultation period, staff will prepare a final report and present it to Council for their consideration of passage of the amended by-law.

Long-Term Service Recipients 2021
Prior to the December 1st Council Meeting the Municipality of North Middlesex recognized our long-term service recipients for 2021.

We acknowledge and appreciate the commitment these individuals have made to the Municipality. We thank you for your dedication and effort to the community. The abilities and contributions will continue to be an important part of the future success of North Middlesex.
Free Public Skate- Christmas Eve
On December 24th, 2021 there will be a free skate at the North Middlesex Arena & Fitness Centre (256 McLeod St, Parkhill) from 10:00 am-12:00 pm.

All skaters (12 years old +) must be vaccinated against COVID-19 to enter the facility. Please bring proof of vaccination and a valid government ID.

Winter Parking in Effect
Winter is here! Please remember there is no parking on municipal roads between 2:00 am and 7:00 am starting Dec. 1st till March 31st. This is particularly important in the winter to allow for snow clearing.

Also, don't forget to bring in your basketball and hockey nets from the edge of the road and out of the way of snowplows.
