Hello from Gaelynn Lea!
I hope this message finds you safe, healthy, and warm during the bleakest (and snowiest, if you live in Duluth!) time of the year... As Doctor Who would say, we're half way out of the dark! Warm wishes for a joyous Hanukkah to those who celebrate (it begins tonight!), and happy holidays to everyone reading this! I hope you have some fun or nostalgic things planned for the coming weeks, and that you have a blessed and fun New Year. Paul and I are celebrating Christmas with my parents on the 23rd, and then heading to his folks on Christmas Eve... We are excited to spend time relaxing with family!
In case you didn't know, Paul and I recently returned from Geneva, Switzerland so that I could perform at the World Health Organization for their launch of the Global Report on Health Equity of Disabled People! I was very excited to get to know Haben Girma (who moderated the event) and to learn about how the WHO is addressing disability worldwide. You can watch a replay of the event here!
As you might remember, the last two years I did a Christmas Carol Singalong with my parents... Here's a link to the 2020 concert - with guest appearances with lots of friends! And here's a link to 2021 - with a cameo from my parents' cat. As much as I loved the singalongs, I didn't have quite enough time to pull that off again this year because of the performance in Switzerland. Fear not, we are planning a reboot in 2023!
Nonetheless, I still wanted to do SOMETHING for the holidays, so keep reading for a couple different options to gather virtually TODAY to celebrate the holidays:
