Seasons Greetings! The winter season officially starts December 21st, but winter came early in Northeast Ohio, with certain areas getting up to fifteen inches of snow! With that said, Northeast Ohio is more than just the lake effect snow. There is still plenty to do this season and it will be looking a little different due to the novel Coronavirus. With holiday gatherings being a lot smaller, it gives you the opportunity to enjoy this season with those closest to you. As for Northeast Ohio, socially distant events are being put on to give everyone a little something to do. 


From all of us at Bay Corporation, we hope this winter season brings some warmth, good weather, and plenty of memories.

Whats The Word?
Cleveland's Winterfest
Winterfest marks the official beginning of the holiday season in Cleveland. Back on November 30th, the city kicked off the holiday season with the lighting of the tree and public square. This holiday season is shaping up to be very different from years past. With Cuyahoga County’s stay-at-home advisory in place, Winterfest has been converted to be a socially distant and virtual event. There are still a few in-person activities to do downtown, such as walking tours of lights and a scavenger hunt, which are all done in a socially distanced way.
Winter Lights
The Cleveland Zoo is continuing with tradition and has put on its annual winter lights display. There is an all-new lighting experience this year with over one million individual lights. This year's display will include themes such as Candyland, Enchanted Forest, Conservation Trail, and Santa’s Workshop. This year's display will offer two options for guests, a drive through and a walking tour.

This holiday season Bay Corporation challenges you to take the extra step to lessen your carbon footprint. This year try and do these tips.
  • Use efficient LED lights when decorating.
  • Set your lights on a timer so they are not on all night.
  • Save the wrapping paper and reuse it.
  • If you are staying warm with coffee or coco try using a reusable mug.
  • If your preference is a live tree, try getting a bulbed tree and replanting it at the end of the holiday season.
Walktober
For the month of October, our employees participated in Walktober! This was a great activity to get our employees away from their desk/work station and take a nice 15-minute walk outdoors. Employees who chose to walk were entered in a giveaway raffle each week for a chance to win a gift card! We congratulate our 5 winners this year, Deanet, Doug, Peter, Chelsea, and Caroline.
Halloween
We had a great time celebrating Halloween this year. Some of our employees enjoyed showing their creativity with Halloween costumes (see below), and we all enjoyed a scrumptious boxed lunch.
Holiday Season
We have been getting into the holiday spirit this month and really enjoyed decorating all of our work areas! Although much different than years past, Bay Corporation will host our annual holiday party on the 23rd for employees. We look forward to getting together six feet apart. Stay tuned to hear how the holiday party went.

On the Road Again
