Simple Ways to Host an Elevated Holiday Event

The holiday season is a time for gathering with loved ones and that special someone, and hosting an event with a touch of elegance can make it truly special. Here are some simple yet effective ways to elevate your holiday gathering:

Choose a Sophisticated Color Palette: Opt for a cohesive and sophisticated color scheme. Classic combinations like gold and white, silver and blue, or rich jewel tones can instantly elevate the look and feel of your event.

Signature Cocktails: Impress your guests with a signature cocktail menu. Create a few unique drinks that reflect the festive season, such as a cranberry champagne cocktail or a spiced apple cider with a twist. Don’t forget to offer a non-alcoholic version for those who prefer it.

Personal Touches: Add personal touches to your event with customized place cards, handwritten menus, or small favors for your guests to take home. These thoughtful details show your guests that you’ve put extra care into the planning.

Interactive Elements: Include interactive elements such as a photo corner with props, a gourmet hot chocolate bar, or a DIY ornament decorating station. These activities engage your guests and add a fun twist to the event.

Dress Code: Suggest a dress code that aligns with the theme of your event. Encourage guests to dress in festive cocktail attire, ugly sweaters, or Christmas pajamas to make it fun.

Would you rather attend an event instead of hosting? The Tampa Bay Magazine's website has a variety of festive ceremonies, there are simply too many to list! Click on the link below to visit their page of holiday activities.

Here are some organizations in Tampa Bay accepting holiday gift donations for families, children, and seniors this season:

  • Metropolitan Ministries: They host a Holiday Tent where you can donate new toys, gift cards, and other holiday items for families in need. Visit their tent or donate through their website. Learn more at Metropolitan Ministries.

  • Sincerely Santa: Sponsor a child by picking up a letter to Santa displayed at Brandon Mall. Gifts for these children, often including clothing and toys, are delivered by local law enforcement and fire departments. Visit their Facebook page for updates: Sincerely Santa.
