happy holidays

'TIS THE SEASON

Making a Difference Together

A Holiday Message on behalf of MAAEYC President, Dr. Cheryl Hovey

In the spirit of giving that defines our early childhood community, MAAEYC Board Members joined hands with Wonderfund this holiday season to create moments of magic for children in need. Each toy donated represents not just a gift, but a spark of joy and a reminder that our community cares deeply about every child's happiness. As educators and advocates who dedicate our lives to nurturing young minds, this toy drive exemplifies the heart of our mission – bringing light to children's lives in every way we can.

We couldn't have accomplished all these great initiatives without our members. As we approach this holiday season, we want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude for your unwavering dedication to early childhood education. This year has brought its share of challenges, but together, we have accomplished so much.

Since June, our collective achievements include:

  • Offering several college credit courses in partnership with Fisher College
  • Hosting a successful comedy show fundraiser
  • Exhibiting at the Family Child Care Summit
  • Attending the NAEYC Annual Conference
  • Organizing a sold-out Western MA Conference
  • Coordinating a Wonderfund toy drive
  • Continuing our advocacy for the vital role of early childhood education

These efforts are a testament to our collective passion and commitment to the children and families we serve.

Looking ahead, we are excited to build on this momentum in the coming year. Stay tuned for information about:

  • Our Annual Conference (April 2025)
  • Upcoming board nominations
  • Excellence in Education Awards
  • More membership events as we continue to strengthen our connections and expand our offerings

The new year brings the promise of fresh opportunities, continued growth, and the chance to make an even greater impact. Together, we can look to the future with optimism, knowing that our shared efforts create brighter tomorrows.

Wishing you and your loved ones a joyful holiday season and a Happy New Year. See you in 2025!

Warm regards, Cheryl

NAEYC's 2025 Public Policy Forum

Sunday, February 23- Tuesday, February 25

Washington DC

NAEYC’s annual Public Policy Forum is returning to Washington, D.C. in-person in 2025, where we will bring together hundreds of early childhood educators and stakeholders to strengthen our advocacy skills, expand our policy knowledge, deepen our relationships with Congressional offices, and build a powerful movement across states and communities!

This multi-day forum will support new and seasoned advocates in sharing their stories as part of an effort to deliver a clear, unified, and coherent message to policymakers on the importance of investing in high quality early childhood education and early childhood educators. During a wide range of dynamic, engaging sessions, participants will be able to build community and gain skills through trainings, resources, and conversations with policymakers, experts, and leaders. The Forum will culminate in a powerful Day on the Hill with hundreds of policymakers focused on child care and early learning.
