Celebrate the Holidays

Season's greetings to you and yours!

President Letter

Hello Fellow Family Child Care Providers,

I hope you are all staying warm when taking the kiddos outside now that the temps are getting colder. I know mine have all been super excited to play in the snow!

I want to thank all of you who were able to attend the Conference in September; it was a great time for all in attendance! The Board of Directors is now very busy planning for our next conference to be held at the Hyatt Regency in Green Bay on April 28-30, 2022. Keep an eye out for more details!

Due to COVID-19, we had our first in-person board meeting in quite some time on November 12, 2021. It was great to get some work done with those who were present. See the meeting notes below in this newsletter.

I thank all of you for your continued work, extra-long hours, and for creating safe, loving environments for the many children that you serve!

I wish you all a safe and healthy holiday season!

Tara Ebben

WFCCA President

2022 Conference Workshops

There are some exciting changes to the 2022 WFCCA Conference Workshop offerings! This upcoming year, we will be adding more tier training to the schedule in order to help people have more time in classes to get deeper into the subject, help participants raise their Registry levels, and help Accredited providers with continuing education requirements for their re-accreditation renewal process.

Here is a statement from the Registry about details of raising your Registry level:

Want to raise your Registry Career Level? Taking Tiered Training may help.

Tiered Training is one of the two types of training reviewed and approved by the Wisconsin Registry. By accumulating Tiered Training hours over time, you can raise your level on the Registry Career Levels see levels 3 - 5 at You can find Tiered Training on the Wisconsin Registry Statewide Training Calendar. Each training event listed on the Statewide Training Calendar is labeled as being either Tiered Training or the other type of training, Registered Training.

Tiered Training and Registered Training hours can count towards required continuing education. Here are two main differences between Tiered Training and Registered Training:

  • Tiered Training must be given by a Tiered Trainer
  • Tiered Training has more criteria reviewed by the Wisconsin Registry in the approval process.

Visit our website at for more information on the types of training and resources relating to professional development.

We are also planning a statewide panel to close out the conference to answer any questions, express business concerns, and clarify supports available to our businesses with agencies around the state. Some of the panels will include DCF, SFTA, WFCCA, and the Registry. If YOU have any questions that you want to make sure to be answered, please email them to They can be anonymous if you'd like.

Stay tuned for the workshop class schedule to be out shortly, along with the registration link! I can't wait to see you all this upcoming year!!
