Happy holidays from Perry Land and the Big Rock, our First Day Hike destination

Dear Susan,

The holiday season can be magical but also a time of stress. Be sure to take care of yourself and slow down to enjoy all the season brings.

We can help you add some calm to the season with a couple of hikes to end the year and start the new one off right. These are meant to be slower, thoughtful walks to take in the crisp winter air and the change in the landscape. Once the leaves go, there is so much to see.

And as you make your list and check it twice, we hope you consider a year end gift to the GCT. you can read more about our work in the last year on the right. Every donation is meaningful and so helpful in the work the GCT does.

Thank you and happy holidays!

Have you considered creating a lasting legacy and protecting Groton forever? Let us help!

Audubon Christmas Bird Count

And Forest Bells

Sunday December 17, 2023

This is an exciting opportunity to participate in Audubon’s 124th Annual Christmas Bird Count. The GCT’s Susan Hughes, Holly Estes, and Chuck Vander Linden will lead a 1.5 mile walk around the trails at the end of Indian Hill Road. We will stop at several spots along the way and watch and listen. No birding experience necessary.

And we will visit the newly renovated Forest Bells to ring in the holidays.

Bring your binoculars and dress for the weather. This all ages event is free! All are welcome! Registration is required.

This all ages event is free! All are welcome! Please register so we know to expect you.

Our work is possible thanks to your donations

We are thankful you are a part of the Groton Conservation Trust! We enjoyed seeing you on the trail and at our many programs and special events, and hearing about your appreciation for open space in Groton. We often hear from you that the beautiful natural landscape, the trails, and the tremendous scenery are what inspired you to settle and remain in Groton.

We thank you for your support, and are reaching out to ask you to donate to our annual appeal. Your generous financial contribution goes directly to land protection, stewardship, and community programming.

This year we welcomed over 1,000 people to our many free programs, we completed our multiyear renovation project at the Bates-Blackman Land, and we managed stewardship work at June's Wood, Gamlin Crystal Springs, and the Forest Bells at Blackman Field and Woods.

You can make your gift online at our secure donation website, or look for an envelope from GCT in the next week to mail in your payment.

Thank you for your supporting the Groton Conservation Trust!
