An Update From Serendipity Quilt Shop
Happy Holidays to you all!
Sharing my joy with you all, these busy makers are not sewing but still creating! One good thing that has come from this year, is time to create, even if it has just been mask making or cooking and baking for daily meals. Many of us have been able to go through boxes, closets, and bins of fabrics and partially done or not even begun projects . Projects have been completed, old fabric purged, or repurposed, new projects begun and FINISHED! Now we can look forward to a new year and hopefully new purpose and a normalcy which we have almost forgotten.
My first 2021 project is already planned!
I have been tasked, by Sam to make him a "Snake" pillow with a pocket for 3 baby snakes. (This is not a joke. He drew me a picture). And the "FISH" quilt I was asked to make by Jack for his bed is at the quilters, so I will be BINDING also in January. Please continue to share your projects on our Serendipity Stir Crazy facebook page. It is the closest thing we have to SHOW and TELL!

Helping Others

Thank you for your donations for People's Place Domestic Abuse program, They were picked up on Friday and as always, much appreciated.
The Placemat project for seniors receiving meals at home through the Cheer center program is also still ongoing and thank you for the beautiful placemats that have been dropped off on the porch!
Thank you for giving this pleasure to those who could use a boost with their meals! We welcome placemats dropped off on the porch during our regular "open" hours M-F 10-4 Sat 10-2

And thank you again for you generous donations to our ongoing Food Bank of Delaware virtual food drive.

"Mystery Quilt" Sew Along - will ring in 2021!
Linda Grigsby's mystery quilt sew along will begin Thursday
Jan 21st. The pattern will be posted every week on Facebook and on our website for 8 weeks. This quilt is approximately 72" X 72" but could be enlarged with borders. Linda did one in Christmas colors and one with rainbow colors. I, of course used some reds, tans and black traditional fabrics, but I think this quilt might scream BATIKS! Gradations of one color palette would work well. Each color should contrast with the color before and after and the background. The fabric requirements will be posted on Facebook and on our website on Thursday Dec 17th as our last Countdown to 2021 post.

What's Next????
We are putting the Finish it Up club on pause for a couple of reasons. It has been hard for us to keep up with it and also, Sherry has been in charge and is MOVING to Maine to be near her family there. We will miss her in many ways but happy for her. We will let you know when we can resume. This doesn't mean you should stop finishing projects!!

I need to order the next Tula Pink fabric by Jan 1. I am not ordering the entire Curiouser and Curiouser line of fabric, but will order the Mad Hatter Tea Party Quilt Kit ($180) and the 25 fat quarter bundle ($80) for anyone who wants it,
if you pre order it by Dec 23rd.
The Kit and the FQ bundles will arrive in April 2021.

Although I had hoped to be opening for in person shopping in late January, it is not looking good. Seeing social media posts of people mask less and close to others is disappointing. We are practicing safe behaviors that have been so far successful keeping COVID out of the shop, hoping that others are also, but it is discouraging to see that some are not. We will most likely need to wait for the vaccine before opening. Thank you for all of your support during this brutal year. You are why the shop continues! Well, you and Bonnie and her posse!
Have safe and Happy Holidays however it will be for you and your family.
