Meet Anna! Anna is running the full marathon on January 19 for Avondale House. We're so grateful that she chose to make her miles matter and support Avondale House.
- What is your "why" for participating in Run for a Reason?
Anna: Often, when I take inventory of my life, I realize I have made so many decisions for myself. Everything I do can be summed up in what I want to do, but how often do I have the opportunity to think about more than just me. SO when Kylie asked me to Run for Avondale House, I realized that doing this Marathon was bigger than Anna and her goals. It could be for other people!
- How many years have you participated in the Marathon?
Anna: This will be my third marathon but my first Chevron! Yay, for a flat course. 😊 So thankful and honored to get to participate. I am not a fast runner, but I love it!
-
Why are you running for individuals with autism? Do you have a personal connection?
Anna: As a Christian, I believe that EVERYONE is made in the Image of God and has value beyond compare. Those with autism can often be overlooked, and I want to intentionally highlight them so that they are given the value, care, and resources that they deserve.
- How does the work at Avondale House motivate you to run?
Anna: There are so many gifts I have been given that I often take for granted. The gift of running is one of those. I hope to use my ability to run to help others. Then, on those hard miles when I hit the wall, I hope to use that gratitude to keep going. I am so thankful and honored to get to participate. I am not a fast runner, but I love it!
Anna has already raised an incredible $1,200 for our mission. If you'd like to support Anna's marathon, you can donate to her page below. Let's help her reach her goal!
