HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Our entire Board, Committee members and everyone within our organization wish you and yours a wonderful Holiday and safe and healthy New Year!
This October Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund just celebrated our 15-year anniversary and feel blessed that we have been able to continue helping our brave military & their families and want to thank each of you that have supported us with your kind donations! We have assisted our military and their families with over $4,300,000.00 in support and spend days, nights and weekends handling emergency situations and providing emotional support to many of our veterans and their loved ones during stressful events.
Our 15-year anniversary has been a time for us to celebrate and a time for us to reflect. We are honored to include in our ranks Ronny Potter, USMC Retired, Executive Director Ohio and Donald “Lee” Adams, Operations Director the Patriot House, WV. This past summer we worked diligently not only on our daily tasks but renovating and improving The Patriot House located in Falling Waters, WV where our military families, veterans and their friends can getaway for a week or long weekend at a time at no charge. We look forward to completing the exterior this spring and are excited to have our military come and relax in the mountain air. We celebrate our students that we awarded with college grants for their commitment to education, our children who we watch play and participate in sports, receive awards for honor roll, trophies, celebrate birthdays, graduate and ready themselves for higher education, take the oath to serve our nation, and thank our many wonderful veterans who rely on us to help them through their hardships and struggles, many that just need that emotional support during to help them combat their less obvious silent wounds they received from combat, i.e., TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury, PSTD, and associated sleep disorders.
Students past and present that are attending Cornell University, Howard University & UNC @ Pembroke to name a few. We reflect on the many families that submitted an application for financial assistance during a time of hardship but now call or email us to say, “I got the job! “. When our families struggle with tragedy or are overjoyed with triumph, we are there by their side. This is precisely what we mean when we say the CFSRF was founded in order to provide
educational, financial, morale
and
emotional
support to the surviving U.S. military children & spouses that have lost a loved one as a result of the Iraq or Afghanistan wars or whose service member has sustained a serious disability. We love it when we receive a photo and a letter from one of our students thanking us for helping them to achieve their academic goal or a portrait from a family thanking us for helping them to get their finances back on track when they were feeling hopeless. It is so rewarding to help these families and even more so to continue a relationship with them to see them through their future endeavors. This is why during this holiday season we are thankful for all our individual donors and corporate sponsors for making all that we have done and for what we have yet to do possible because of your generosities! Thank you for helping to support our families in their time of need by giving them an opportunity that they might not afford otherwise.
We have been busying ourselves this year traveling all over to events from sunny Florida, to the DC Metro area and to the big state of Texas. Of course, we cannot mention all our great supporters in this letter, but we are grateful for each one of you! Our Founder & staff at Children of Fallen Soldiers Relief Fund, Inc. is proud to call all of you family!
Happy Holidays and please keep our military and their families in your thoughts and prayers. It’s never too late to
DONATE
to our programs.
With Much Gratitude,
