Apple in San Jose Chooses Vision Comp for their large expansion project!

This year, Apple in San Jose has been using thousands of yards of Vision Comp as a soil amendment for their large installation project. The landscape team from Brightview who is doing the work say, "Vision Recycling is the top vendor who has material that meets our spec".  Adan Rodriguez, salesperson from Vision Recycling for the job says, "the product is a rich humus that provides amazing organic matter to the soil. But, photos of the new campus are against protocol, and we hope to see the finished project sometime in the near future".

Organics Recycling in Santa Cruz County Gets Terminated!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Since 1996, Vision Recycling has operated at the two Santa Cruz yard and wood waste facilities transforming Organics into twelve sustainable products for the gardening and landscape communities.  With the current contract set to expire this December 31st, Santa Cruz County Public Works Department and four out of five Supervisors elected to terminate local Organics. They chose to truck the material out of the county with a trucking company that is $211,500 more expensive and has plans to divert all of the material to compost. An entire infrastructure that Vision Recycling created was decimated, a diversity of products eliminated, thousands of trucks on the road will increase and the only
locally recycled commodity sent away.  Thanks to all of our customers and supporters over the years for your business and loyalty to local recycling.  Vision Recycling has five facilities around the San Francisco and Monterey Bay areas. Vision will work to service the Santa Cruz customer base from its other facilities. Again, thank you to everyone who has stuck with us over the last eight months through this long and arduous process. After January 1st 2018 Vision Recycling will no longer be operating at the Buena Vista Landfill and Ben Lomond Transfer Station.   We're sorry to see these fine local institutions disappear.
Vision Recycling becomes a member of the Benicia Chamber of Commerce by hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house

On November 29th the Benicia Chamber of Commerce visited Vision's yard and wood waste facility for an official ribbon cutting ceremony to congratulate Vision on becoming a new member. People from the town were present to witness the flower garland ribbon being cut and thrown into the green waste pile.  "That's how we do things around here" said Tom Del Conte owner of Vision Recycling.  "Instead of a red ribbon that will have to get thrown in the landfill, we always use a natural handmade garland that we can cut and then return to the soil".

Vision Recycling hosts SWANA (Solid Waste Association of North America) for a tour of the Buena Vista Yard & Wood Waste Facility)

This past fall SWANA visited Vision Recycling's facility in Watsonville at the County Landfill as part of their annual retreat and planning session.  Members from all over the state of California were given a tour of the facility and got to see up close one of the large grinders that processes the material.  According to Tom Del Conte, "We were honored to have a leading trade association contact us and want to see the last remnants of a thriving Organics program before it gets terminated by the County".
