We hope you had a wonderful and restful holiday break - and that your loved ones are safe after the winter storm. We send our heartfelt appreciation to the line workers, snowplow drivers, first responders, emergency shelters, food pantries and so many others that worked long hours away from their families over the holiday to provide help to our fellow Ohioans.
With the storm behind us, I’m grateful to reflect on all we’ve accomplished together over the past year. We’re excited to share Gilbane has nearly completed early site excavation and Bechtel will start building in the first quarter of 2023.
I’m also delighted to share Intel employees around the world volunteered more than 1 million hours in 2022 and Ohio contributed several hundred hours towards that accomplishment. Our success is because of you – the Chambers of Commerce, nonprofits, municipalities, schools, and universities that have invited us to participate alongside you in communities across the buckeye state.
We’d also like to thank our peers in the New Albany International Business Park and others around the state that have welcomed us to the Ohio business community. Working together this past year has been a pleasure and we look forward to collaborating even more in the months and years to come.
As the end of year draws near, we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you – from New Albany, Johnstown, Columbus, Newark, Cleveland, Cincinnati, Toledo and every place between - for an amazing year. We send our best wishes and happiness to you and your families over the festive season. We look forward to a successful 2023 working together!

Gilbane has nearly completed early site excavation work and on November 28, Intel announced Bechtel will design and build Phase 1 of the Intel Ohio project, a total of 2.5 million square feet of facility, including 600,000 square feet of cleanrooms.
The project is expected to generate 7,000 construction jobs and 3,000 long-term positions in manufacturing and engineering.

“Bechtel is proud to work with Intel and the people of Ohio to reclaim U.S. semiconductor manufacturing. A project of this complexity and magnitude—with an outsized impact on the community and economy—is the type of work Bechtel is uniquely positioned to deliver. Intel volunteered hundreds of hours in Ohio over the last several months. This brings us one step closer to our RISE 2030 Goals and achieving 10M volunteer hours across our communities around the world.
Throughout October, Intel volunteers participated in hands-on activities, tutoring, and mentoring at nonprofits and schools across Central Ohio to help students build confidence and capacity for creative problem solving. Encouraging students to explore STEM activities is part of Intel’s longstanding commitment to volunteering and education.
In November, nearly 300 elementary and high school students participated in hands-on Intel® Future Skills sessions facilitated by Intel Ohio employees. Students were encouraged to think differently, embrace mistakes and develop a growth mindset as they gained skills needed for the workforce of the future. Read more >

Throughout the holiday season, we’ve seen firsthand the important work occurring at nonprofits across Licking County and the state. We’re especially thankful to the Healthy New Albany Food Pantry for connecting our nearest neighbors in need with food and other critical resources.
Intel’s philanthropy model relies on employee engagement to support local community programs. We connect Ohio nonprofits with our volunteer network by sharing volunteer and donation opportunities with employees. Our employees have the option to generate a $10/hour matching volunteer grant and a 1:1 donation matching grant to organizations registered in Benevity. The holiday season is such a wonderful time to gather with colleagues, family, and friends. In the last several weeks of the year, we had the opportunity to meet many of you at the Ohio Statehouse lighting, Licking County Courthouse lighting, the Remarkable Evening in New Albany, the Westerville holiday celebration, Granville Candlelight Tour, Galena tree lighting, Pataskala Cookie Walk, and of course, the Johnstown Holiday celebration.
We can’t wait to see you while we’re out and about in 2023!
