All Partner Meeting 2024: Surviving and Thriving Together

On December 13th, directors and delegates from BC ELN partner libraries convened in Richmond for the annual BC ELN All Partner Meeting, hosted in the Wilson School of Design at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. A highlight of this year’s gathering was a zoom presentation by Dr. Dale Askey, Vice-Provost and Chief Librarian at the University of Alberta.

The meeting, themed Surviving and Thriving through Challenging Times, brought library directors, steering committee members, and BC ELN staff together to exchange ideas and strategies for navigating challenging circumstances while fostering sustainability in libraries.

A Look Back at BC ELN's "headlines" of 2024…

• Sasha Han Unravels Metadata Mysteries as New Arca Migration Specialist: Sasha Han stepped into the role of the new Arca Migration Specialist.

• New WriteAway Coordinator Kyle Beres Champions Accessible Writing Support: Kyle has played a pivotal role in the advancement, coordination, and assessment of WriteAway this last year.

• EBSCO Bursary Enables LLEAD Learning: Reba Ouimet, BC ELN Licensing Coordinator, took part in this year's LLEAD Program, made possible by a generous EBSCO Bursary.

• BC ELN Receives Funding to Bolster Services and Remove Barriers: BC ELN received funding from the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills to investigate information needs of Indigenous students and potential barriers to BC ELN membership for Indigenous-led post-secondary institutions.

• BC ELN-BC Data Service Partnership Launch: BC ELN and BC Data Service have teamed up to grant BC ELN partner libraries access to four BC Assessment datasets unavailable on the open web, at no charge.

• Raising Awareness of Library Consortia: BC ELN staff presented the consortial approach to library collaboration to the UBC iSchool.

• Member Engagement Survey Results: Eager to Connect and Learn: This spring, BC ELN invited feedback on the types of connection, learning, and knowledge-sharing experiences our members would like to see.
