presidents message, Happy Holidays from FAB!
Greetings, FAB members!

As I reflect on 2020 and it’s multiple challenges for our arts community family, I am both humbled and proud of the progress we’ve made to adapt and overcome.

Despite COVID-19 social gathering restrictions, FAB staff and volunteers have vigorously optimized efforts to keep our membership united and engaged with new programming and virtual tours via FAB Presents and the FAB Scene, our monthly newsletter. Our grantees also dug deep to keep us continually inspired through new monthly productions and re-imaginings of past favorites.

I urge you to stay connected with us via our FAB Presents and Zoom meetings until we can convene again, in-person. Don’t miss our next FAB Presents, a virtual tour of the World Collection of Glass Art on Monday, January 11, at 5:30 p.m. More events will be posted on our FAB website and social media channels.

Additionally, as sustaining and enriching the arts is our primary Mission, please share our call for 2022 FAB Grant Applications featuring our new Education Grant. More information is available on our website at fundingartsbroward.org or via email at fabgrants@gmail.com. The deadline for arts organizations to apply is Friday, January 22, 2021.

I’d like to take this parting moment of 2020 to wish all of you a healthy and safe holiday season and a happy new year. We have much to be grateful for including our member support and corporate sponsor benevolence during this year of giving.

"Local Non-Profit Gives Young Dancers A Performance In A Year Where There Are No Audiences"

A message from Rachel Ma of FCBT....
Local dance non-profit, The Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theater, was faced with needing to cancel their 2020 ballet production of "Cinderella" due to COVID, like most ballet companies across the world. But instead of disappointing the cast of young, local ballerinas age 5-18 from across Broward County, the faculty and staff, in partnership with Broward Center For The Performing Arts used tremendous innovation and creativity to create a professional, 4-camera shoot, cinematic, FILM version of the show instead. Execution of the dance film project strictly abided by Health and Safety guidelines set forth by CDC and state- a deterrent that has prevented some of the largest ballet companies in the country from following suit. But the local Fort Lauderdale Children's Ballet Theater has done it with a cast of 70 children and adults from right here in South Florida! An exclusive friends and family early premiere of "Cinderella", will be available on Thursday, December 17 in the FAB Funded performances section of the Funding Arts Broward website. Access is also available by clicking HERE. We look forward to applying for another grant for our 2022 season! Thank you for sharing in our good news.
