Dear Patients, Colleagues and Friends of FOWH,

On behalf of the doctors and staff at Fair Oaks Women’s Health, I wish you a very warm, joyous and healthy Holiday and New Year. 2019 has been a very good year for our practice but there were some bittersweet moments as well. Here is a recap of some changes and accomplishments for our group in 2019.

In January, Dr Joanna Woo learned that she passed her Boards, and became Board-Certified by the American Board of Ob/Gyn .

Dr Kristen Engorn moved to San Diego last August to be closer to family. She had only been with our group a year or two, but everyone really liked her. We were happy to learn that she is now expecting baby number two.

Dena, our Medical Records Supervisor left to pursue a Master's Degree in Child Life Development. Her position was given to Aracely – so congratulations are in order to Aracely for her promotion! Dena's mom is Diane, our long-time Nurse Practitioner (who had a big honor recently! Dena also got married this year, and so we are very happy and proud of her and we miss her.
Diane Guerrero, WHNP
30-years with FOWH!
Diane is celebrating her 30-year anniversary with our practice this month and was honored at our recent “end-of-the-year” event. Diane’s husband Donald, her daughters Dawn and Dena, and Dawn's son Jasper were there as surprise guests and Diane was definitely surprised! She received her new 30-year service pin, a framed certificate and yes, a nice bonus too! See the photo below.

For all of 2019, Dr Della Fong has been serving as the Vice-Chair of the Ob/Gyn Department at Huntington Hospital. In January 2021, Dr. Fong will become the Ob/Gyn Department Chair. Well done Dr. Fong!
This month we added a second Nurse Practitioner to our group. Mandy Littlefield, RN, FNP has been in the medical profession for over 16 years and has worked for the past 3 years exclusively in women’s health. We are very pleased to have Mandy here in our office.
In October, we had our second annual Saturday morning walk-in flu vaccine clinic. That day we administered more than 150 flu shots. Note that the flu season this year has begun and is predicted to be worse than average in terms of severity . All pregnant women should receive the preservative-free flu vaccine this flu season. Please let us know if you are our OB patient and still need your flu vaccine.
FOWH is on track to deliver nearly a thousand babies in 2019. More than 1 out of 4 births at Huntington Hospital are from Fair Oaks Women’s Health. Next year, we are adding another Ob/Gyn doctor to our practice. Since Dr. Engorn left, we are doing everything we can to make sure patients are seen in a timely manner. We know sometimes the waits are long and the phones are not always answered promptly. We are working hard to improve our service to you, our loyal and deserving patients.
Thank You to Our Patients!
Thank you for trusting us with your women’s health needs, your prenatal care, and the birth of your precious, sweet babies! Stay warm, stay safe, and stay healthy this holiday season and have a wonderful Happy New Year!

Warmly,
Bryan S. Jick MD FACOG
