FRA Awards Spotlight: City of Orlando CRA

The City of Orlando CRA won both the  2018 Creative Organization Development and Funding Award and the 2018 Management Programs Creative Partnerships Award   for its projects Nighttime Economy Management and Church Street Plaza!

Recognizing the invaluable importance of their night time economy, the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Orlando hired a third party to study their night time economy and identify future challenges and opportunities. This process successfully unified stakeholders, community leaders, residents and the city. One of the outcomes of the process included hiring a Nighttime Manager, being one of the first in the nation to do so.

Church Street Plaza is the redevelopment of an underutilized site (adjacent to the historic Church Street Station) into a 25-story mixed-use development with an integrated SunRail station, a 180-room hotel, 206,600 sf. ft. of office space, and 8,200 sq. ft. of retail space.
Congratulations, City of Orlando CRA and keep up the good work!
