Season's greetings to you and yours!

Dear Valued Housing Partner,

On behalf of the Long Beach Housing Authority, we would like to wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season and a healthy and prosperous new year. Thank you for your interest and participation in housing our families during the past year.

Looking back at 2022, the agency was able to streamline many of our processes to accommodate the needs of our housing providers, in addition to onboarding hundreds of new owners and property managers into our programs. Through our Emergency Housing Voucher Program, we've offered hundreds of sign-on bonuses to secure stable housing to over 300 individuals experiencing homelessness as well as helping provide resources to cover security deposits, application fees, utility deposits, furniture assistance, and more. This program has been a critical part of the citywide efforts to address homelessness.

Altogether, your partnership has helped us support more than 7,000 families to remain housed each month. In our efforts, more than $100 million in housing assistance payments were made to housing providers across the City as well as over $300,000 in leasing incentives to assist our participants experiencing homelessness to secure housing. We've also made significant progress on technology and staffing upgrades to better serve you and together we ensured the stability for many of the vulnerable families we serve in Long Beach.

As we look ahead to 2023, the agency is prepared to continue serving you and our many partners with an array of expedited services and upgrades for your needs. Our dedicated staff is working hard to make various adjustments and enhancements to our programs and services to make your experience with us as convenient and productive as possible. We want to ensure our housing providers are given excellent customer service and support for any interaction you have with our team.

Our team of housing specialists, aides, analysts, inspectors, and other professional service employees — all of us here at the Housing Authority — are committed to doing all that we can to help create more affordable, livable, and safe housing options for families in need.

We look forward to working with you in the coming year. And, once again, thank you for your continued partnership in helping us achieve our mission.

Sincerely,

Alison King, Deputy Executive Director

Housing Authority of the City of Long Beach
