Illume has much to celebrate this year as the service continues to grow, introduce new enhancements, and strive for equilibrium in the system. Let's take a look at the highlights.

In 2022, Illume:

• Filled over 68,000 interlibrary loan requests: 103 participating public and post-secondary libraries collaborated via the Illume service to deliver books, articles, and other materials into the hands of B.C. and Yukon patrons.

• Supported the elimination of ILL fees for non-returnable items for BC ELN participants: BC ELN Illume libraries collaborated with the Illume Administrative Support Centre to strengthen the service's infrastructure and participate in training and education to support the elimination of ILL fees for non-returnable items (e.g., articles). Assessment showed strong uptake of the recommended strategies, with the majority of libraries implementing best practices and the system showing progress towards equilibrium.

• Launched the permanent patron account requesting feature: This new SHAREit feature is available to public libraries that are interested in becoming early adopters. The permanent patron account requesting feature enables more efficient and flexible requests.

• Welcomed two new members: Trinity Western University and University Canada West joined Illume, expanding the collections available to all Illume members!
