Reflecting on a wonderful 2019
A Message from NCC's President and CEO
Dear Friends,

As 2019 comes to a close, I wanted to reflect and thank you for supporting New Century Careers. It was an exciting year celebrating 20 years of service and NCC has much to be thankful for.

Looking back on 2019

New Century Careers:

  • Hosted weekly tours of the Training Innovation Center for area high schools, community-based organizations, funders, leaders of the local manufacturing community and many others. 
  • Enrolled 56 trainees in the MANUFACTURING 2000 (M2K) Machinist Training Program.
  • Started an M2K evening program at Eastern Westmoreland Career & Technology Center; enrolling 9 trainees.
  • Opened an M2K Quick Train facility in McKeesport.
  • Hosted a 20th anniversary celebration/grand opening of NCC's training facility in McKeesport and an open house at NCC's Training Innovation Center in Pittsburgh.
  • Successfully registered M2K as a pre-apprenticeship program with the PA Department of Labor & Industry, Apprenticeship and Training Office.
  • Launched a new Robotics Technician Apprenticeship Program with Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing (ARM), a Manufacturing USA Institute; Catalyst Connection; CCAC and Tooling U-SME that's registered with the PA Department of Labor & Industry.
  • Recruited 138 Apprentices to enroll in the Pittsburgh Chapter NTMA multi-employer Apprenticeship Program.
  • Engaged 34 companies and created 7,382 parts through New Century Job Shop.
  • Participated in STEM career awareness events, including National Manufacturing Day and Women in the Trades Day.

We couldn't have accomplished all this without your support. Special thanks to NCC’s board of directors and staff, elected officials, funders and business leaders. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.
