Happy Holidays from REC

This holiday season, REC’s employee-funded charity, Project Big Heart (PBH), brought the spirit of giving to life, reaching families, seniors and organizations across our service region. From adopting children and seniors to supporting local shelters, food banks and community programs, REC employees showed just how much can be accomplished when we come together to serve others.

Through donations, fundraisers and countless volunteer hours, each REC office PBH chapter made a significant impact: delivering gifts to more than 140 families in need, supporting over 40 community organizations and providing more than $24,000 in funding and resources to programs that make a real difference. At REC, giving back is more than a tradition; it’s who we are.

The compassion and generosity of our employees continue to make a difference, proving that our commitment to community shines bright all year long.

In addition to their holiday giving efforts, REC employees brought the spirit of celebration to our communities! From helping install the Town of Tappahannock's tree for Winterfest, donating toys to Caroline's Promise, stringing lights at the Louisa Arts Center, sponsoring the Montpelier Center's Grand Illumination and powering the Toy Lift donation drive in Ruckersville, we're proud to support the places we call home.

REC employees also took to the streets this holiday season, participating in 13 Christmas parades across our service region. From passing out candy to waving from decorated trucks, they spread holiday cheer to thousands of families and neighbors. These festive moments showcased the joy and connection that define the holidays, bringing smiles to the communities we proudly serve.
