"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."

2018 has been another remarkable year for automation, machine vision, and for Smart Vision Lights. We want to personally thank our customers, partners, industry colleagues, and vendors for the support you've shown us in 2018. Thank you on behalf of the entire SVL team.
On the heels of VISION in Stuttgart, Germany, it's hard to not be excited for what 2019 will bring. Adoption of machine vision continues at near double-digit growth, with the largest players in the industry forecasting a strong 2019 despite what seems to be four years of geopolitical uncertainty that hasn't (yet) materialized.
Coming off the recent CRAV.ai show in Santa Clara and VISION, we saw the continued buzz around artificial intelligence (AI), deep learning, fast and high resolution cameras, and advanced machine vision software for both industry and embedded consumer applications. The research and development coming from universities and young startup companies using neural networks and scalability of cloud computing is nothing short of amazing. Also on display and available around nearly every corner of the show were more and more companies offering solutions to the components side of the machine vision world. Companies from Asia, Europe, and the Americas are bringing fascinating solutions to the market that will enable growth of embedded imaging and embedded machine vision.
Of course, we continue to talk with these customers, end users, and industry leaders in an effort to innovate and bring market-driven solutions to solve your lighting and machine vision needs.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays,
Matt Van Bogart
VP, Marketing and Business Development

Connect-a-Light Forms 6 m Linear Light to Inspect Lumber
The Connect-a-Light Series simplifies connecting multiple light segments to create longer, larger illumination fields without the expense of large lights. In this video, 20 L300-WHI-L linear lights are connected to create a 6-meter lighting solution that uses dedicated analog intensity control for wood mill inspection.
In case you missed Smart Vision Lights' sponsored webinar via Vision Systems Design magazine, you can still view the presentation video here . The webinar, titled "The Growing Need for Precision in LED Lighting", focused on emerging trends among fast drivers, multispectral/multi-light systems, and advanced design procedures coming to bear on LED light designs.
