Did You Know?
A big way our community gets money for child and family programs is by participating in the U.S. Census. The state and federal government uses census information to fund programs like child care, free and low-cost school lunches, and Medi-Cal.
The 2020 Census kicks off April 1.
Reminder:
Covered California open enrollment for 2020 runs through Jan. 15.
Enrollment for Medi-Cal, the state’s free or reduced-cost taxpayer-funded health insurance program, can be done at any time.
Starting in January, Californians will be required to sign up for health insurance or face a $695 tax penalty under the new state mandate.
