Winter Wonderland Drive Thru Event for 250 Lewisville ISD Students
The Love For Kids, Inc. December 12th Winter Wonderland Drive Thru Event for 250 Lewisville ISD Title 1 elementary school children was a true community event. Dallas Children’s Charites, 42-year partner of Love for Kids, provided the toys for Love For Kids “KIDS,” Blanket Pal Corp donated 250 of their famous Pals when they heard of the Drive Thru event, then a blessing from Hunger Busters who donated 31-lb food box for each family. We had breakfast burritos from the Circle R Ranch for every child , the Legacy Corvette Club, many costume characters - from Santa and his Elves to Storm Troopers to Scooby Do to Superman to Deadpool - plus 5 Miss Texas Title Holders waving to the kids from atop a fancy JEEP from Huffines Auto Dealerships. Top it off with Christmas music and traditional Mariachi Band music - it was a wonderful event!
Love for Kids Director and Event Chair Fred Whitfield and President Sandy Huffman President received help from Andy Plunkett, LISD Chief of High Schools, Lori Litchfield, Chief of Elementary Schools, Kaye Nyquist Administrative Assistant, to set up this first-time event. Hats off to all the principals and counselors of the 6 schools that helped get the parents and the kids to this wonderful event.
