Last week was an exciting week for many reasons. Macaluso’s restaurant in Nesquehoning once again played host to Hydra-Tech Pumps’ annual Christmas party on December 13th. We celebrated a year that saw successes with old customers and new as well as the completion of our 8000 square foot addition. Almost every Hydra-Tech employee was in attendance to enjoy some good food and adult beverages together. Kim Kane received her 5 year service award. Anyone who has called in to Hydra-Tech knows Kim as she is involved in many aspects of customer service, quoting, order entry, is active within our safety committee and so much more. After a fun night of food and drink we reflected on the year that was and talked about what we can do in 2020.

It was also an exciting week with respect to progress on our new addition to the building. We have been “enclosed” for a while now and the electric and HVAC work was going on but in two days last week we had power, light and heat all completed in the addition. We are able to use a truck dock again (that wasn’t fun without one for 3-4 months). We are truly in the home stretch now – with most of the electrical and plumbing getting wrapped up, we are at the point where we can begin to place pallet racking and move the shipping department and put this new space to work! We will provide one more addition update as we near completion with more pictures and detail, for now here is a picture of the inside of the building:

PUMP OF THE MONTH

S6CSL

Hydra-Tech’s S6CSL submersible 6” hydraulically driven sand slurry pump includes a built-in agitator designed to stir up heavy solids. This robust and powerful material mover has hardened wear components and is intended for use in applications where settled solids must be put into suspension and pumped away with the discharge water. The primary applications include de-silting, dredging and moving driller’s mud; other uses include filling sand bags to prevent beach erosion, tank and digester cleaning or pumping sediment from caissons. The small size allows the pump to fit through a 22 inch opening. The S6CSL requires hydraulic inputs of up to 27 gpm @ 3000 psi and when combined with our HT50 to HT75 open and sound attenuated power units, the S6CSL is capable of output flows to 1200gpm. And, it will pump up against head pressure up to 130 feet.
