Wow, what a busy summer we've had here at Happy Hounds! Our extended Happy Hounds family is continuing to grow and quickly. That being said, to assure your pooch has a spot at daycare, please give us
at least 24 hour notice. As much as we hate turning our furry friends away, we do limit the amount of pups per day for everyone's safety.
In addition to our monthly birthday party, held
Monday, August 21st, we will be celebrating National Dog Day! Be sure to reserve a spot for daycare for your pooch to attend the festivities on
Saturday, August 26th. We have a fun day planned with plenty of snacks, the only thing we need from you is your pooch!
Labor Day is closing in on us quickly, if you haven't already booked boarding for the last summer hoo-rah, be sure to reserve a spot. Likewise, if your pooch is a Monday regular and plans on staying home with the family, be sure to let us know of the cancellation. As always, spaces are limited.

Meet Colby
Colby, a French Bulldog, joined the Happy Hounds family in March, 2016 at the age of 1. This dog is definitely one of the more popular of the dog's-dog at daycare. With his laid back attitude, love of water, never-ending desire to wrestle and insatiable urge to play ball, Colby always keeps us on our toes.. and laughing. Often times, we're asked if we have a baby attending daycare due to his crazy, screechy, Frenchie wail/talk. This boy has no problem voicing his displeasure whether it be because he wants to go play ball downstairs or because he is dying of anticipation to attack the hose.
When picking friends, Colby doesn't judge, after all, he's a bully himself. He often picks the biggest, beastiest looking pups he can find and when they're around, he turns into their biggest fan. His best friends being JJ, a big, sweet cane corso mix and Junior, a big baby of an American Staffy. Believe it or not, this little dude ALWAYS has the upper hand. He has no trouble wrestling and taking them both to the ground but once they're down, Colby drowns them with kisses and rolls around them, just hoping for his friend to return the favor. He ONLY does this with the fellow bully breeds. Even though he doesn't judge, he still has his own "type" of friend he prefers but who doesn't?
Generally, most dogs who attend Happy Hounds are just as happy seeing their parents at pick up as they were to arrive. Not Colby. Colby often tries to sneak back into the basement as his parents wait to have him leashed up and sent into the lobby. He's that typical kid begging for "just another 5 more minutes" but let's be real, with a face like that, we wouldn't mind 5 more minutes with him either.

My name is Gizmo and I'm a fun little guy who is smart, well behaved, house broken, crate trained, loves to go for car rides and give kisses and cuddle. I'm around 5 years old but don't let my age fool you, I love to play and go for walks. I don't know how but I ended up on the streets and no one came to take me home. Some nice people kept me safe but the shelter was a scary, noisy place. I'm so happy to be in a foster home and can't wait to find my forever home.

Saturday, August 26th
Bring your pooch for daycare on Saturday, August 26th to join us in celebrating National Dog Day! We'll be dedicating the whole day to dogs! There will be plenty of doggy cake, bobbing for snacks, playing in the pool with everyone's favorite giant ice balls. We can guarantee it will be a howlin' good time!

Please leave nylabones and rawhides at home. If packing a large bag of food, be sure to write the amount per feeding on the bag.
* Lobby doors are locked between 10am and 2pm on weekdays(Monday-Friday). We will not accept any arrivals or departures during those hours.
* Dogs with expired vaccines will
not be accepted for daycare or boarding. We require an
updated vaccination record 48 hours BEFORE he/she arrives. If you are traveling abroad, we also will need a local contact in case of emergency.
* Your dog MUST have a snap "quick release" collar for day care and boarding, with
no tags attached. This is important for your dogs safety.
* Please let us know at least 24 hours ahead of time for cancellations and reservations.
* Be sure to inform us of any changes in contact information; phone numbers, email/home address, emergency contact, etc.
* If a family member or friend is picking up your pooch from daycare or boarding, you
must pre-pay your bill. If it's a last minute decision to have someone else pick your pup up, please give us a call with payment and let us know who we should be expecting.
