Abigail, a lab, joined the Happy Hounds family in June 2017 at 8 months of age.  Often affectionately called L'Abigail, L'Abis or L'Abisnail, she answers to everyone of her Happy Hounds given names. Though she's a bit of an awkward turtle, her calls are often met with a weird, slinky-trott to our side and followed by a paw to the thigh. It's her signature "Hello, I've heard you summon and here I am". Unlike most rowdy, barrelling, wrecking ball labs, Abigail is extremely quiet and light footed. Even when we haven't called her, and she's no where in sight, this little Labby Ninja just appears out of thin air at our side with, yet again, another check in paw to the leg. 

Abigail is very set in her ways. She has quite the long list of things she likes and things she dislikes, like Santa Paws... Heck, if she never had to see Santa Paws ever again, it would be too soon. Her favorite thing, aside from her dad, is routine. Unlike most pups who require a collar change at drop off, Abigail's dad HAS to be the one to change her school uniform. If we welcome her in before the official change, her whole morning is completely thrown into a whirlwind of confusion and despair. Of course, we've learned this quirky side and on the rare occasion we forget about her arrival routine, we're quick to send her back out. Once the change has happened, Abigail needs to run up and down the top set of stairs three times. Not once, not twice, but three times. After which, she's quick to jump on the half door to get her last "see you later" from dad and then she's off to hang out with her buddies... and you guessed it, her favorite play style is swatting her friends on the head. We've tried to tell her it isn't nice to treat others like punching bags but hey, at least she's gentle about it. 

We've recently discovered Abigail's new obsession with bandannas. When the bandanna became all stretched and worn, her dad removed it and again, Abigail was thrown into another whirlwind of change and new dimensions. To combat this, we now assure she has a new bandanna every time her previous one is looking a little stretched and shabby. Have no fear Abigail, we're stocking up on more bandannas just for you!!
