Happy Hounds News
July 2016

What a fun filled summer it has been at Happy Hounds. The staff has spent much more time in the mornings outside with the dogs to fend off the oncoming heat for the day playing in the water. Needless to say the water bill is not your typical $$$ over at our place. But it's all worth every priceless picture, wet sock, shirt and other unmentionables. Where else can you go to play in the water with dogs every day and like a school group, it's a daily field trip of every personality, variety, and flair. Some dogs jump right in, others sit on the side lines and watch, others like the reserve splashing out of the pool, some hog the pools, many chase balls by the pool and some just plain old need some coaxing. Really, they just don't know they love it until they have tried it. With some help!!! Ask any staff member and they will kindly tell you what kind of pup you own for water purposes.

When parents ask if their dog sleeps all day, the answer is well all dogs sleep. It depends on how much and it depends on for what purpose. The staff try diligently all year around to get your pooches moving, for exercise and stimulation. Some kids don't want stimulation, some kids are just plain tuckered out from a hard morning play, others are just plain old lazy and still others stay awake, right in front of the cameras just to show mom/dad it's money well spent before booking somewhere for a quick nap. Again, please ask any staff member and they will gladly inform you what kind of pup you have in regards to the American lifestyle.

Moving on, Happy Hounds will celebrate its July birthday party on the 18 th be sure to book your Monday for the fun festivities. Fast forward to August and our National Dog Day party will be a bash this year on August 26 th. It's a really good time of games, cake, prizes, hopefully many can attend before its back to school time.

A great big, squishy, slobbery, wet, fur filled hug from the entire Happy Hounds enterprise to all the wonderful clients that made the 4 th of July Plymouth parade a success by walking/riding with your dog and our float. Admit, it felt really good to show your pup off to hundreds and hundreds of humans walking down Main St. It was cool to have the so-called humans clapping for us and the Happy Hounds name brand. Thanks to all participants, thanks to the City of Plymouth, and thanks to the entire staff for our success. To view the pictures, visit our flickr page.

See you next month,
Sincerely,

Christine Perez

Dogs of the Month
Meet Bandit, a Golden Doodle. Bandit joined the Happy Hounds family in July 2010 at the age of 5 months old. Bandit spends a lot of time boarding with us throughout the year and has come to love his Happy Hounds routine. This boy fills his days with rowdy play and his nights with snuggles in bed.

Meet Buffy, a Beagle. Buffy joined the Happy Hounds family in September 2010 at the age of 3. This sassy older girl says age is just a number. Buffy is always eager to chase her friends. Even with her fun loving personality, Buffy knows rules are rules and she tries to enforce them when the youngens are getting too wild.

Meet Cali, a cockapoo. Cali joined the Happy Hounds family in February 2011 at the age of one. She spends her days snoozing and occasionally getting up to play fetch or chase a friend or two. At night, she transforms into the best netflix binging buddy in all of Plymouth. Cali takes cuddling and lounging very seriously.

Meet Nikki, a pitbull mix. Nikki joined the Happy Hounds family in July 2010 at the age of 2 years old. She's the biggest sweetpea ever. Nikki plays with dogs of all sizes and temperaments even though she's a little awkward during play time. Her idea of playing includes friendly nose jabs and wiggle/spins. She's quite the character.

*  When boarding your dog with us, we MUST hav e your dogs updated vaccination records 48 hours BEFORE he/she begin boarding.  If you are traveling abroad, we also will need a local contact in case of emergency.

*  Your dog MUST have a snap "quick release" collar for day care and boarding, with no tags attached. You can keep the snap collar in your Happy Hounds backpack.  If this is not his/her daily collar we will change it out when your dogs arrive at Happy Hounds. This is important for your dogs safety.
