HAPPY JUNE!

With the weather we've been having, it already feels like summer. Summer officially starts June 21st and with that, our busy boarding season. If you plan on taking a vacation or decided on taking a last minute weekend camping trip, don't forget to schedule boarding for your pooch! The entire week of 4th of the July is our busiest of the year. As of now, we have plenty of openings for boarding but that may change quickly, especially with all the new enrollments we're constantly receiving. We ask that all reservations are made as soon as possible to assure you a spot. We also try our best to staff accordingly but in the case of last minute boardings, we may have to turn a few down due to staffing. Though we do staff as much as possible, when calling off extra staff, we try to give them at least 8 hours notice. In the past, we have had to turn away dogs for day of boarding simply because additional staff was already called off. We greatly appreciate notice of at least 24 hours but we'll always try our hardest to accommodate last minute bookings. We know vacations are exciting for all involved and there's ton of planning when scheduling one. You would be surprised at how many last minute bookings we get because parents simply forgot to plan for their pooch.

As school ends and the kids are home, we know a lot of pups plan on hanging out at home.  Whether you're cancelling, adjusting or even setting up a standing reservation, we ask that you let us know of any changes.

With busy boarding, that also means daycare will be more limited. If you need any specific days due to long work schedules or even just a day trip with the family, please, book those as soon as possible. We try our hardest to accommodate everyone but boarding pups are always a higher priority over daycare since we hate to leave anyone scrambling to find someone to watch their pup while they're away.

And as always, if you suspect your pup is feeling under the weather, give us a call to cancel for the day, you will NOT be charged for it. Due to the communal nature of Happy Hounds, it's a huge risk to bring a sick pup into a pack. You know your dog best. Though it may not be contagious, it's better to play it safe. Sick dogs WILL be sent home. I know I, for one, would rather stay home if I wasn't feeling well. Perhaps your pup would be happier resting up and relaxing on the couch as well.

Sincerely,

Happy Hounds

Meet Nora

Nora, a pibble, joined the Happy Hounds family in August of 2015 at the age of four.

Quite possibly the cutest little blue House Hippo with the best smile in all of Plymouth, if not the whole world. Like most pibbles, Nora's favorite pass time is to be snuggled. It's a sure fire way to win her heart. Bonus points if you whisper sweet 'good girl's into her ear. Though she already knows she's the goodest girl, it never hurts to give her a few reminders here and there.

When she's not being loved on by staff, Nora is often found in the basement, policing the rough and tumble crew. She loves to chase her buddies around. I often imagine her playing cops and robbers with her buddies. Nora is very much into fair play and the justice system. No dog dares to steal a toy from another on Nora's watch! She will make sure she's chases the thief and return it to the rightful owner, the staff. After all, the best way to keep it fair is for someone to throw it and see who catches the toy.

In the warm summer months, Nora can be found basking in the sun as the life guard on duty. That's right, she hangs her sheriff hat up just to make sure everyone is safe at the Happy Hounds Pooch Pools. Though she's not the type to thrash and splash, the girl does love to dip her toes in between saving lives.

A huge shout out to Nora for all her dedication to keeping Happy Hounds theft and drowning free!
