Happy Hounds News
November 2016

When packing your pup's daycare or boarding bag, please  pack the following:
Snap Release Collar, No Tags
Kibble and/or Canned Food
Treats
Medication

Do NOT pack:
Bowls
Scoops/Measuring Cups
Raw Hides/Kongs
Toys
Blankets

We have plenty of these items on hand for your furchild to use. This also ensures that your items do not get misplaced during their vacation.

For health and safety reasons, make sure your pup has ample time in the morning to eat breakfast before arriving to daycare. This will ensure their tummy are settled prior to play time!

As a reminder, daycare dogs are only fed lunches (noon) at Happy Hounds. In the instance that your pup is scheduled to be a late pick up, beyond 7p, you are more than welcome to pack a dinner for them. We try to keep our regular routine with each and every pup on a daily basis, extra meals have caused confusion for both the dogs and the staff in the past. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Now that we are approaching busy season, reservations are a must. As always, we try our best to accommodate all clients, but occasionally Happy Hounds is booked full and we have had to turn some pups away in the past. You are welcome to email us, call or save a spot for your pooch online

Don't forget our new weekend hours have been extended to 7am - 7pm!
If you have a busy day or a game to attend, be sure to schedule daycare for your pooch! Happy Hounds has high hopes to make our Weekends just as eventful as our Weekdays! YAY!

As a follow up to our new vaccination requirements, we wanted to pass along that we are open to considering an annual Bordetella vaccination, opposed to the 6-month, with your vets approval. Due to the communal nature and high levels of exposure, we still strongly recommend getting the 6-month vaccination.

For more information on Kennel Cough and its vaccine, visit PetMD .

Sincerely,

Happy Hounds

Happy Hounds' Dog of the Month
Meet Barkley

Barkley, a lab mix, joined the Happy Hounds family in May 2014 at the age of 2. This fun loving guy is a total jock at first glance. Barkley has a whole gaggle of buddies. He is always engaging in play with a new friend and never plays with the same friend twice in one day, unless it's with his on and off again girlfriend, Georgia. Barkley doesn't let his extreme popularity go to his head. He's always the first to comfort a new, skittish dog with a quick sniff and an invitation to join his squad of doggy BFFs. Though he spends 90% of the day keeping up appearances and enjoying rowdy play, this boy is not shy about receiving affection. The staff always knows when Barkley needs a good hug. He'll often wiggle slowly over with his eyes squinting and a slow tail wag, just waiting for the 'okay' for love. Once he's got it, it's game-over and you better prepare yourself to hold him tight and whisper a bunch of "good boys" and "I love yous". He's easily a staff favorite at night. Barkley is not only a champion ball player, he also excels in the art of cuddling.

* Lobby doors are locked between 10am and 2pm on weekdays(Monday-Friday). We will not accept any arrivals or departures during those hours.

*  Be sure to inform us of any changes in contact information; phone numbers, email/home address, emergency contact, etc.

*  If a family member or friend is picking up your pooch from daycare or boarding, you must pre-pay your bill. If it's a last minute decision to have someone else pick your pup up, please give us a call with payment and let us know who we should be expecting.
