Scout, a lab mix, joined the Happy Hounds family in November 2013 at the age of two.

Her mornings are scheduled down to the second. Even her slow putz into the stairwell is timed and deliberate..ly slow. Once in, she's often faced with the same daunting question, "do you wanna go ou'side?", to which she normally responds with a huff and shake of her head while shoving her face into the door jam to playroom one. In fact, on days which are too hot or too cold for outside access, Scout is often the one dog who is finally casually strolling to the outside door as we're vigorously working to herd the pups inside. She's always late to the party. So late that I'm not really sure you can consider it fashionable. 

Though it's no secret one of Scout's favorite pass-times is lounging in comfort or basking in the warm sun, she does have a few sure-fire ways to get her in the mood for play. She absolutely LOVES small dogs. The smaller the better. Nothing gets her into a playful mood quite like a little dog happily prancing over to play. It never gets old watching her rear up and dramatically puppy bounce at the feet of one of her little buddies. When all else fails, we bust out the toys. Scout, howvere, doesn't want those generic tennis balls or kongs. No, Scout wants an empty bottle to pounce, thrash and trot around with.

Once pick up rolls around, we have to peel Scout off her throne and cheer her on every step of the way to the red gate, in order to leash her up. Her parents are always curious as to how she spent her day and how refreshing her expensive nap really was.
