FALL FILM FESTIVAL

On Sale Now: Passes & Tickets

Sales of full festival passes and single admission tickets to ImageOut's 2023 Fall Film Festival continue! Festival passes provide the greatest value to avid festival-goers and allow fast, easy access to all festival film programs and special events. Passes are $220. Single admission film screening tickets are typically $10 in advance of the festival or $12 once the festival starts and at the door, with the exception of the archival night double feature. Senior, student and veteran discounts available. Special event ticket prices vary. Convenience/processing fees apply to online orders. For more information and to purchase, click the buttons below.


Pass Pickup: Purchased Full Festival Passes may be picked up, with photo ID, at the Ticketing table at the Kickoff Party or first film screening you attend.


Passholder Reservations: After you purchase a Full Festival Pass, you will still need to reserve your free ticket to special events to guarantee your spot.

Kickoff Party

Join us for an evening of celebration and community on Thursday, October 5 at La Luna High Falls (60 Browns Race, Rochester, NY), 5:30-8:00pm, as we kick off our 31st anniversary ImageOut Fall Film Festival! Enjoy beer, wine, and spirits at the cash bar, along with non-alcoholic items. Sample a wonderful assortment of delicious hors d'oeuvres as well. There will be a short program highlighting the 10 Day Film Festival, during which its films, guests, gatherings and other activities will be discussed and shared. Plus, it's your last chance to purchase film tickets and passes before opening night screenings on Friday, October 6! 18+ only. Limited capacity. $10.00 (+ processing fee).


Passholder Note: Event is included with a Full Festival Pass, but you must still RSVP online separately after pass purchase to guarantee your spot.


Parking Note: Parking is at the High Falls Parking Garage (complimentary for departures after gates go up at 6pm), or there is limited street parking available.

Opening Night

Join ImageOut on Friday, October 6 for Opening Night Selection Program 1: GLITTER & DOOM at The Little Theatre 1, 7:00pm. The film will be preceded by a Members-Only Happy Hour at The Little from 5:30-6:30pm for 2023 ImageOut Members and followed immediately by a Live, In-Person Q&A with Director Tom Gustafson for all film attendees. $10 in advance of the festival / $12 once the festival starts and at the door. Senior, student and veteran discounts available.


About the Film: In this fantastical summer-romance jukebox-musical, told with the iconic hit songs of the INDIGO GIRLS, a struggling musician and a carefree clown running-away-to-join-the-circus fall in love at first sight. A shimmering, brightly-colored new musical from director Tom Gustafson ("Were the World Mine"), featuring supporting performances from Ming-Na Wen, Missi Pyle, Tig Notaro, Kate Pierson (of The B-52s), Peppermint, and even the Indigo Girls themselves (Amy Ray and Emily Saliers).

Join ImageOut on Wednesday, October 11 for Narrative Centerpiece Program 16: OUR SON at The Little Theatre 1, 9:00pm. $10 in advance of the festival / $12 once the festival starts and at the door. Senior, student and veteran discounts available.


About the Film: When his husband Gabriel files for divorce, Nicky fights for custody of their eight year-old son Owen, as he struggles to come to terms with what it means to love someone and what it means to be a father. Starring Billy Porter and Luke Evans.

Documentary Centerpiece

Join ImageOut on Saturday, October 14 for Documentary Centerpiece Program 21: GOING TO MARS: THE NIKKI GIOVANNI PROJECT at The Dryden Theatre, 1:30pm. $10 in advance of the festival / $12 once the festival starts and at the door. Senior, student and veteran discounts available.


About the Film: Intimate vérité, archival footage, and visually innovative treatments of poetry take us on a journey through the dreamscape of legendary queer poet Nikki Giovanni as she reflects on her life and legacy.

Closing Night Party

Join us at Nosh (47 Russell St, Rochester, NY), just across University Avenue from George Eastman Museum and The Dryden Theatre, for an evening of celebration and community, following the closing night film of our 31st anniversary Fall Fill Festival on Saturday, October 14, 9:30pm-12:00am! Enjoy beer, wine, and spirits at the cash bar, along with non-alcoholic items. Complimentary savory and sweet nibbles will be served too, including chocolates from ImageOut sponsor Hedonist Artisan Chocolates. 18+ only. Limited capacity. $20.00 (+ processing fee).

Parking Note: There is a paved parking lot, with ample space available to park, off of Atlantic Avenue at this venue, as well as additional street parking nearby.

Honoring Michael's Legacy

In conjunction with Michael's Lifetime Achievement Award last fall, we created The Michael Gamilla Fund to provide underwriting support for our film festival. We're certain that he would want to see LGBTQ+ film continue to thrive in our community, and this is a great way to ensure that.
