Celebrating Indigenous People's Day

This Indigenous People's Day, we're excited to announce a new series of wayside exhibits coming to Piscataway Park later this fall.

The exhibits, created in collaboration with Piscataway elders and knowledge keepers, will tell the story of the land through an Indigenous perspective. From welcoming visitors to Moyaon and inviting them to be good guests, to discussing the legacy of settler colonialism, visitors will be introduced to Piscataway history, culture, and values imbued in this cultural landscape.

The Ethnobotanical Garden exhibit highlights traditional indigenous methods of caring for the land in right relation, and a new sign near the tobacco barn teaches the importance of tobacco as a sacred plant, kwshatay.

Follow us on social media for updates on the installation process, and make sure you come to Piscataway Park to see (and learn!) soon.
