Last day to give to AGE Africa's Tri for Malawi to help provide scholarships this school year!

Happy International Day of the Girl!
An AGE Africa CHATS Girls' Club session
Today is  International Day of the Girl  -- a day to lift up young women and girls worldwide. It's also the last day of AGE Africa's  Tri for Malawi Team Challenge, a movement to raise $150,000 to support 200 scholarships for Malawian girls.

Right now, there are 50 million girls around the world who are out of secondary school. In Malawi, the poorest nation in the world by GDP per capita, the statistics are especially shocking. Less than 6% of women in Malawi have graduated high school, and girls are under-enrolled in secondary school compared to boys nearly 2:1. By providing marginalized young women with the resources and support they need, AGE Africa is enabling adolescent girls to complete secondary school and to leverage their knowledge and skills.

Girls' progress brings positive returns for families, communities and countries

Thanks to your generosity, AGE Africa supports more than 200 comprehensive scholarships for young Malawian women each year. In addition to supporting girls' tuition, AGE Africa's scholarships cover the indirect costs of attending school, like uniforms, groceries, school supplies and more. On Friday, you heard the story of AGE Africa's most recent scholarship recipient, Eluby. However, there are still millions of girls, like Eluby, who are out of school today.

In celebration of International Day of the Girl, please consider taking action and investing in a young girl's future. Even a small donation can have a great impact.  A single girl with a high-quality education can start a positive cycle of education and empowerment for generations to come! Thank you for empowering our scholars.
